The thermal resistance tester for fabric is a specialized device used to measure the thermal insulation properties of textile materials. This tester helps determine the effectiveness of fabrics in creating a thermal barrier between the human body and the surrounding environment, particularly in protecting against negative environmental factors such as the cold.
Operational Procedure
The test sample is placed on a constant temperature heating plate, and a constant airflow is applied in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample. By measuring the loss of heat penetrating the surface of the fabric to the atmosphere, the thermal insulation performance of the fabric is calculated.
Four test modes:
1. Dry contact test: the fabric is in direct contact with the heating plate;
2. Wet contact test: the heating plate with wet filter paper placed on the fabric direct contact surface
3. Dry space test: keep a certain distance between the fabric and the heating plate
4. Wet space test: keep a certain distance between the fabric and the heating plate with wet filter paper on the surface
