The folding resistance tester is a device used to measure the fold resistance of materials such as paper, cardboard, and flexible printed circuit. It simulates repeated bending or folding of a material to determine its durability and resistance to cracking or breaking.

This tester is often used in industries like packaging, printing, and electronic product manufacturing to assess the quality and performance of materials.

Test Principle

  1. Prepare the test piece by cutting it to the standard width specified for the test.
  2. Fix the two ends of the test piece on the folding tester.
  3. Apply the required load to the lower, to create tension on the test piece.
  4. Activate the machine and initiate the test mode for folding endurance.
  5. The lower fixture will start reciprocally bending the test piece to the left and right sides in a vertical position.
  6. The bending angle should be set to 135 degrees.
  7.  The folding tester will continue bending the test piece until it breaks, and it will automatically count the number of double folds.
  8. Record the number of double folds required for the test piece to break, as this indicates the folding endurance of the paper sample.
